With a playoff win on the line, Mater Dei rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the Buchanan Bears by a score of 3-1. The victory was nothing new for the Monarchs as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Buchanan's loss came despite strong showings from John Soldani and Carlos Jay. Soldani had 13 digs and five assists, while Jay had 13 assists and six digs. Jay has been hot for a while, having posted 12 or more assists the last 11 times he's played.
