Windsor proved they can win big on March 10th (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Cardinal Newman Cardinals 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Jaguars have posted since May 6, 2024.

Kaihla Jarvinen made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up five earned runs off nine hits. Jarvinen was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Jarvinen wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Haley Homan, who scored a run while going 2-for-4. Pearl McKay also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Windsor is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. Cardinal Newman is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Windsor Jaguars face off against Rancho Cotate Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cardinal Newman, they are taking a road trip to face off against Analy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cardinal Newman is facing Analy at the right time seeing as Analy is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
