Baseball Recap: Beardstown Comes Up Short

Beardstown dropped their record down to 16-6-1 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Illini West Chargers, falling 14-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Tigers have suffered since April 9th.

Beardstown saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tannar Riddell, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Colby Desollar, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

As for Illini West, their record is now 22-10. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won 14 games by six runs or more so far this season.

On Illini West's side, Tre Neiderman was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most runs Neiderman has posted since back in March. Khile Stonger was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beardstown will head out to challenge Macomb at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bombers will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Illini West, they are taking a road trip to take on Orion at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
