Basketball Game Preview: Polytechnic Parrots vs. Paschal Panthers

Polytechnic is 0-6 against Paschal since November of 2021 but things could change on Friday. The Polytechnic Parrots will welcome the Paschal Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Polytechnic took a loss when they played away from home back in December of 2024, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Wyatt, sneaking past 30-28. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Parrots have posted since December 1, 2023.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Paschal's strategy against North Side on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Paschal blew North Side out of the water with an 81-44 final score. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 22 points or more this season.

Paschal has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points per game. As for Polytechnic, their victory bumped their record up to 8-11.

Polytechnic suffered a grim 74-48 defeat to Paschal in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Polytechnic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
