Volleyball Recap: Roxana Shells vs. Salem Wildcats
Roxana lost against Salem back in September, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Roxana Shells fell just short of the Salem Wildcats by a score of 2-1.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Roxana sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 20-25, 25-22.
Sarah Baldwin paced Roxana's offense, picking up 14 kills. Baldwin got some help from
Daisy Daugherty and her 21 assists.
Genna Pruett controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Salem had a senior duo take command as Natalie Lee had 27 digs and Makayla Braddy had eight digs and 15 assists. Those 27 digs set a new season-high mark for Lee. The team also got some help courtesy of Kale Benjamin, who had ten digs.
Roxana's defeat dropped their record down to 16-16-2. As for Salem, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-11.
Roxana has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Althoff Catholic on the 28th. As for Salem, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Casey-Westfield on the 26th.
