Baseball Game Preview: Azusa Aztecs vs. Nogales Nobles

For the second straight game, Azusa will face off against Nogales. The Aztecs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Nobles at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Azusa is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Azusa will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Nogales, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Aztecs had just enough and edged out the Nobles 11-9. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Aztecs.

Jacob Elliot was a standout: he went 4-for-6 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Terry Chavez, who went 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

The win got Azusa back to even at 9-9. As for Nogales, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
