Basketball Recap: Prince George Takes a Loss

Prince George was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. The matchup between them and the Freeman Mavericks didn't end well, with the Prince George Royals falling 58-39. While losing is never fun, the Royals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 370th, while the Mavericks are ranked 132nd).

Prince George's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Freeman, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prince George won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Meadowbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Freeman, they and Thomas Jefferson will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Thomas Jefferson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Freeman likes a good challenge.
