Baseball Recap: Wheeler Takes a Loss

Wheeler fell victim to Lowell and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Red Devils, falling 10-0. The Bearcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

Wheeler saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Bravo, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Wheeler dropped their record down to 10-16 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Lowell, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-15-1.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Wheeler will head out to face off against Whiting at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Oilers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.48 runs per game on average), something the Bearcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Lowell, they will take on Kankakee Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
