Basketball Game Preview: Legacy Charter Eagles vs. Life Christian Academy Lions

The Legacy Charter Eagles and the Life Christian Academy Lions will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Legacy Charter will be strutting in after a victory while Life Christian Academy will be coming in after a defeat.

Legacy Charter is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past Holy Cross Lutheran Academy to the tune of 42-8 on Wednesday. The team ran away with 32 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.

Legacy Charter can attribute much of their success to Joi Medley, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten rebounds, and Layni Combs, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 11 steals. What's more, Medley posted two assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Laila George was another key player, putting up six points and seven boards.

Legacy Charter smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Life Christian Academy had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 48-40 to City of Life Christian Academy. The Lions have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Legacy Charter's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Life Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
