Softball Game Preview: Countryside Cougars vs. Northeast Vikings

The Countryside Cougars will square off against the Northeast Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Countryside is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They lost 25-11 to Mount Dora Christian Academy. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 6-1 in the first period.

Meanwhile, Northeast suffered their biggest defeat since March 19, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against Palm Harbor University, falling 13-7. The Vikings have struggled against the Hurricanes recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Lashell Roberts and Victoria Frye stepped up to the plate in a big way. Roberts scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Frye went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Countryside, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-2.
