Basketball Game Preview: Clovis Wildcats vs. Alamogordo Tigers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Clovis Wildcats face off against the Alamogordo Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday... One thing working in Clovis' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.

Clovis came up short against La Cueva on Tuesday, falling 95-69.

Meanwhile, Alamogordo came up short against Los Lunas on Monday and fell 55-47. The defeat continues a trend for Alamogordo in their matchups with Los Lunas: they've now lost three in a row.

Clovis dropped their record down to 7-8 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.9 points per game. As for Alamogordo, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.

Clovis skirted past Alamogordo 57-55 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clovis since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
