League recap: Quincy win leads to rise in state rank

Quincy moved up to 139 from 175 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 1A Caribou Trail. The Jackrabbits climbed the ranks as a result of a 21-0 win over Chelan.

Cashmere extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Okanogan, 51-7. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Bulldogs.

The Mountain Goats' dynamic duo of Luke Gleasman and Erick Oscarson proved tough for Quincy to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Gleasman threw for 109 yards and Oscarson had 44 yards receiving. Mykey Flowers helped Chelan's passing attack out by catching four balls for 36 yards.

Andy Vargas was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 114 yards on seven carries as Stephen Wallace's team lost to Stephen Wallace's team. Antonio Melendez also contributed to the rushing game with 81 yards on the ground.

6-foot-1 quarterback Gleasman of Darren Talley's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 438. He has also thrown two touchdowns. On the ground, the Jackrabbits' Jacob Durfee has rushed for 453 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Cade Smith. The Brewster star has 11 catches for 155 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Cascade takes on the Bulldogs. The Kodiaks are currently in third, while Okanogan is in second.

Cascade led the league in scoring this week after putting up 56 points on Tonasket.
