Basketball Recap: Heppner Comes Up Short

Heppner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-49 heartbreaker at the hands of the Weston-McEwen TigerScots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-49 back in January.

Heppner's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Weston-McEwen, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-13.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Grant Union the next time they take the court. Heppner will head out to face Grant Union at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Weston-McEwen will head out to face them at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
