Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Brookfield Central's Winning Streak

After a string of four wins, Brookfield Central's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Brookfield East Spartans by a score of 2-1. While the Lancers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Spartans 25-16 in the first set.

Brookfield Central started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 16-25, 25-13, 15-13.

Molly Daugherty paced Brookfield Central's offense, picking up ten kills. Daugherty got some help from Emma Duff and her ten assists. Carolyn Gauntt controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Brookfield Central's defeat dropped their record down to 11-17. As for Brookfield East, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 27-8.

Brookfield Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Wheaton North on the 4th. As for Brookfield East, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Oak Creek on the 4th.
