Football Recap: Rice Consolidated Falls to East Chambers in First Game of Season + How To Watch

Rice Consolidated unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the East Chambers Buccaneers on Friday, falling 35-10. The Raiders were down 28-7 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

East Chambers had a senior duo take command as JD Zurby rushed for 130 yards and two scores and Koby Jones rushed for 107 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries.

Looking ahead, Rice Consolidated is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Shiner at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for East Chambers, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Hardin-Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
