Baseball Recap: Plano Comes Up Short

Plano was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 7-4 to the Sandwich Indians. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-8 last Tuesday.

Amari Bryant was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Braylon Schmidt, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Plano's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Sandwich, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plano will face off against Serena at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The last three games the Huskers have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Sandwich, they will head out to take on Freeport at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Indians are facing the Pretzels at the right time seeing as the Pretzels are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
