Softball Game Preview: Reynoldsburg Raiders vs. Lancaster Golden Gales

Reynoldsburg hasn't had much luck against Lancaster recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Raiders will head out to face off against the Golden Gales at 5:00 p.m. Reynoldsburg has given up an average of 18.9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Reynoldsburg is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 32nd straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They came up short against Canal Winchester, falling 15-4.

Reynoldsburg saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keisha Ibe, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That RBI was Ibe's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Lancaster entered their tilt with Olentangy on Thursday with 11 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 12. They put the hurt on the Braves with a sharp 17-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Golden Gales, who have now won 17 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Lancaster pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.1 runs over those games. As for Reynoldsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 0-23.

Reynoldsburg suffered a grim 33-0 defeat to Lancaster in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
