Recap: Logansport Berries vs. McCutcheon Mavericks
The Logansport Berries were the 62-56 winner over the McCutcheon Mavericks when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Logansport lost to McCutcheon at home by a decisive 68-52 margin on Friday.
Several Berries players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacob Taylor, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. That's the first time this season that Taylor pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Carson Dubes, who scored eight points along with two steals.
McCutcheon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brody Raeke, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Baker, who scored 16 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Logansport now has a losing record at 6-7. As for McCutcheon, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-10.
Logansport won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lewis Cass at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: L.j. Hillis and Taylor. As for McCutcheon, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Benton Central at 7:30 p.m. Benton Central is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
