Basketball Recap: Idrees Elfarra and Charles Mapanao Secure Win for River Islands

River Islands waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They strolled past the Franklin Yellowjackets with points to spare, taking the game 65-50.

River Islands was led to victory by Charles Mapanao and Idrees ElFarra. Mapanao went 8 of 16 on his way to 23 points and five steals, while ElFarra posted 20 points along with six assists and five boards. The matchup was Mapanao's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dylan Peter, who scored nine points and five assists.

River Islands' victory bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Franklin, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-22.

River Islands has already played their next game, a 65-30 defeat against Venture Academy on the 4th. As for Franklin, they will head out to face off against Tokay at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tokay will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Franklin surely won't give up without a fight.
