Softball Game Preview: Rainier Columbians vs. Valley Catholic Valiants

For the second straight game, Rainier will face off against Valley Catholic. The Columbians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Valiants at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Rainier has won three straight at home, while Valley Catholic won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.

Rainier blew Valley Catholic out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Valley Catholic got their revenge. The Columbians fell just short of the Valiants by a score of 3-1. The Columbians' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Valley Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Rainier, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.
