Baseball Recap: St. Anthony Finds Playoff Glory Versus Paris

It's playoff time, and St. Anthony had no trouble coming through when it counted. They never let the Paris Tigers get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Wednesday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 games by six runs or more this season.

Brady Hatton made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brock Fearday, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Will Fearday, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

St. Anthony was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .480. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

St. Anthony is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Paris, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-17.

As of now, neither St. Anthony nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
