Softball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central blew Newberg out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Newberg got their revenge. The Panthers fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 19-17. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (15), the Panthers still had to take the loss.

Emery Lushenko was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those RBI were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Alexis Christ, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Newberg, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central will face off against Dallas at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Newberg, they will square off against Southridge at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
