Softball Recap: LaVergne Comes Up Short

LaVergne had lost 14 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-20 to make it 15. They came up short against the Wilson Central Wildcats, falling 12-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, with their most recent defeat being a 18-1 loss last Thursday.

As for Wilson Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games.

For Wilson Central's part, the team relied heavily on Jordin Atkins, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Adelynn Perry was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

LaVergne does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Wilson Central, they have already played their next match, a 9-3 victory against Smyrna on the 5th.
