Volleyball Recap: Mercer Tigers vs. Tournament Opponent
Mercer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to Tournament Opponent. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Tournament Opponent this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in September.
When it comes to explaining why Mercer lost, don't look at Ryley Saarnio. Despite the final result, she had ten kills, five digs, two aces, and one block. Kaylee Powers was another key player, getting 12 digs.
Mercer's loss dropped their record down to 4-20.
Looking ahead, Mercer is taking a road trip to challenge Mellen at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Granite Diggers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tournament Opponent, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Calhoun Christian on the 4th.
