The Clairemont Chieftains will take on the Classical Academy Caimans at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Clairemont's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last four matchups.
Clairemont's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Thursday's struggle, when Morse hitters got past them. The Chieftains skirted past the Tigers 12-11. The win continues a trend for the Chieftains in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won eight in a row.

The team relied heavily on Diego Matsumoto, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Trevino, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Clairemont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Classical Academy came up short against Eastlake on Wednesday and fell 9-4.
Classical Academy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Hoff, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Clairemont's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Classical Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Clairemont hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Classical Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
