Basketball Recap: St. Charles Extends Home Winning Streak to 14

St. Charles put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They secured a 50-44 W over the Fulton Pirates. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Pirates, too.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead St. Charles to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nicole Zelinko, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 12 points and five steals. Zelinko is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Allison Zelinko, who went 6 for 8 on her way to 13 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

St. Charles pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Fulton, they moved to 5-3 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Charles will welcome Vestaburg at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Charles is facing Vestaburg at the right time seeing as Vestaburg is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Fulton, they will challenge Coleman at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
