Softball Recap: Puyallup's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Puyallup extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping their season record up to 11-6 in the process. They never let the South Kitsap Wolves get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by ten runs or more this season.

Kiera Thomas was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Paisley Jamison and Kayla Ringenbach did most of the damage at the plate: Jamison went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Ringenbach went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Jamison has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jenny Tuivaiave, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Puyallup was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

As for South Kitsap, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for they, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.

On South Kitsap's side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eva Spencer, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Puyallup will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wolves: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
