Baseball Recap: Millbrook Comes Up Short

Millbrook suffered their closest loss since May 11, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of the Leesville Road Pride by a score of 4-2. The Wildcats have struggled against the Pride recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Millbrook got a good showing from Carter Woodward, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave Woodward a new career-low in walks (one).

At the plate, Millbrook saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Liam Clay, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Hayden Heath was another, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Millbrook's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Leesville Road, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-5.

Looking ahead, Millbrook will challenge Wakefield at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last five games the Wolverines have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Leesville Road, they will face off against Athens Drive at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pride are facing the Jaguars at the right time seeing as the Jaguars are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
