Basketball Recap: Fort Lauderdale Flying L's vs. Stranahan Mighty Dragons

If Fort Lauderdale was feeling good fresh off their 83-56 takedown of Piper last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fort Lauderdale Flying L's had to suffer through a 90-61 loss at the hands of the Stranahan Mighty Dragons. The Flying L's haven't had much luck with the Mighty Dragons recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Fort Lauderdale lost on Wednesday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Reggie Cleveland, who posted 17 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Antonio Bonami, who earned 18 points and six boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stranahan to victory, but perhaps none more so than Damari Foster, who scored 20 points. Foster has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of David Nealy, who had 23 points and five rebounds.

Fort Lauderdale's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-6. As for Stranahan, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Fort Lauderdale wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, an 80-66 loss against Cardinal Gibbons on the 24th. Stranahan has also already played their next contest, a 62-52 win against Miramar on the 24th.
