Softball Recap: Elmwood/Plum City Wolves vs. Boyceville Bulldogs
Elmwood/Plum City had lost ten straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 5-17 to make it 11. They came up short against the Boyceville Bulldogs, falling 11-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in April.
As for Boyceville, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
For Boyceville's part, Brooklyn Talmage was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Talmage was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
In other batting news, Zoey Hellendrung was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Aubrey Malean was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one double.
