Elgin came tearing into Saturday's contest with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Horizon Science Academy Hawks with a sharp 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Comets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Elgin took every set by at least 16 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-9, 25-6.

Elgin found their leader in sophomore Jocelyn Wall, who had eight digs and five aces. Those five aces set a new season-high mark for Wall.

Elgin was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 21 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in August of 2024.

Elgin's victory bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Horizon Science Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Elgin nor Horizon Science Academy have any future games scheduled.
