Baseball Game Preview: Morrow Mustangs vs. Dutchtown Bulldogs

The Morrow Mustangs will square off against the Dutchtown Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Morrow came up short against McIntosh on Wednesday, falling 17-5.

Zoran Galloway and Bryce Glass stepped up to the plate in a big way. Galloway scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Glass scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Malachi Mingo was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Even though they lost, Morrow always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .522. This was only their first loss (out of six games) when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Dutchtown fell victim to Newnan and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 15-0 to the Cougars. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

Dutchtown's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Morrow, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Morrow has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Dutchtown struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Morrow came up short against Dutchtown in their previous meeting back in February of 2018, falling 6-1. Can Morrow avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
