Game recap: Sprague High School Football Team beats McNary

SALEM, Ore. - After three lead changes, Sprague (Salem, Ore.) took the lead for good when Thomas Harris ran for a touchdown with 6:00 left in the second quarter and held on to defeat McNary (Keizer, Ore.) 57-46 on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Harris in the second quarter, the Olympians were up 43-31 at the half.

Sprague saw its 12-point halftime lead fall to four entering the fourth.

Kyle Torres made a difference for the Celtics. The junior running back ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to eight on the year.

Sprague's standout player in the win was Harris. The senior running back ran for four touchdowns. He has now scored 16 touchdowns on the season.



The loss comes after McNary defeated North Salem 41-0 last week. The loss ended McNary's three-game winning streak.

Sprague (5-2) goes up against North Salem in a 6A Central Valley game matchup next week, while McNary (4-3) locks horns with McKay also in a 6A Central Valley game.
