Baseball Game Preview: Lakeside Dragons vs. West Geauga Wolverines

The Lakeside Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the West Geauga Wolverines at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Lakeside has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lakeside came up short against Perry on Monday, falling 11-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Dragons in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost five in a row.

Lakeside saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gage Tome, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Wickliffe typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday West Geauga proved too difficult a challenge. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Blue Devils 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wolverines have posted since April 22nd.

Lakeside's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for West Geauga, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

Lakeside might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from West Geauga when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Dragons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
