Softball Recap: North Fremont Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

North Fremont extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping their season record up to 9-7 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 9-8 W against the Marsh Valley Eagles. For the Huskies, this counts as revenge for the 8-5 victory the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Peyton Lenz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brynnli Schultz, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one triple the last three times she's played. Makyah Cherry was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

North Fremont hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marsh Valley struck out nine times.

As for Marsh Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by just one run.

On Marsh Valley's side, Olivia Campbell was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that Campbell has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Lydia Howell, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Coming up, North Fremont will challenge West Side at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Marsh Valley, they will square off against Ririe at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday.
