Basketball Recap: Bethel Assembly Christian Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Olivia Bazemore and Savannah Ball

Bethel Assembly Christian Academy dropped down to 4-4 on Friday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 48-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Coastal Brigade. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Coastal Brigade earlier this season, when they won 38-36.

Bethel Assembly Christian Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Savannah Ball, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds, and Olivia Bazemore, who shot 50% from the field en route to 20 points in addition to five boards and four steals. That was a full 51.3% of the Eagles' points, marking the eighth time in a row Bazemore has posted more than a third of the team's points.

As for Coastal Brigade, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Leading Coastal Brigade to victory were Maelyn Bledsoe and Addy Hall. Bledsoe dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten boards, while Hall scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bledsoe has scored at least a third of Coastal Brigade's points.

Looking ahead, Bethel Assembly Christian Academy will welcome Suffolk Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Coastal Brigade does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
