Volleyball Game Preview: Douglas County Huskies vs. Battle Mountain Huskies

Douglas County will be taking part in a tournament against Battle Mountain at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Douglas County took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Highlands Ranch. The victory continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won four in a row.

Douglas County walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the fourth set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 21-25, 25-19, 25-15.

Addi Bradford was the offensive standout of the match as she had 16 digs and three assists. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September. Caliah Stack also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Meanwhile, Battle Mountain is still undefeated this season after their contest against Steamboat Springs on Tuesday, but Steamboat Springs came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Huskies came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Sailors. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Huskies have posted since September 11th.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Battle Mountain who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 23-25, 25-18, 19-25, 15-9.

Douglas County now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Battle Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 13-0.
