Preview: Thrasher Rebels vs. Tupelo Christian Prep Eagles
The Thrasher Rebels will head out on the road to face off against the Tupelo Christian Prep Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Thrasher has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since August 25th.
Last Thursday, Thrasher was beaten by Baldwyn 56-6. Thrasher was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-0.
Meanwhile, Tupelo Christian Prep unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a serious blow against Biggersville, falling 45-0. Having soared to a lofty 51 points in the game before, Tupelo Christian Prep couldn't push the score so high this time.
Thrasher's defeat was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 10.8 points per game. As for Tupelo Christian Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Thrasher took a serious blow against Tupelo Christian Prep in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 38-0. Can Thrasher avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
