Preview: Vina Red Devils vs. Hackleburg Panthers
Vina is 1-9 against Hackleburg since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Vina Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Hackleburg Panthers at 7:30 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with ten consecutive losses dating back to last season for Vina and six for Hackleburg dating back to last season.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 90-31, which was the final score in Vina's tilt against Phillips last Monday.
Meanwhile, Hackleburg had to suffer through a rough 80-47 loss at the hands of Marion County. Hackleburg has not had much luck with Marion County recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Vina's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.0 points per game. As for Hackleburg, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
Vina strolled past Hackleburg in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a score of 66-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Vina since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
