Baseball Game Preview: MacArthur Generals vs. Aldine Mustangs

MacArthur has won four straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Aldine has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. MacArthur will welcome Aldine at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, MacArthur beat Eisenhower 7-3.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Aldine). Their pitchers stepped up to hand Nimitz a 15-0 shutout on Friday. With that win, the Mustangs brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Jansyel Barbosa and Isaiah Nunez made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Barbosa tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Nunez pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). At the plate, Barbosa scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Nunez scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs Nunez has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Orlando Reyes was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Velez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-5.

MacArthur's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Aldine, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
