Recap: Hilmar Yellowjackets vs. Carmel Padres
The Hilmar Yellowjackets lost against the Carmel Padres back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Hilmar took a serious blow against Carmel, falling 85-44. Hilmar has struggled against Carmel recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Hilmar's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jason Moniz, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Xavier Silveira, who scored 12 points.
Hilmar's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Carmel, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hilmar will square off against Ceres at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ceres focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday. Carmel's road trip will continue as they head out to face Menlo School at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th.
