Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Jay

Jay had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Milton Panthers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Royals also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

In the three sets Jay was on fire: they won each by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-14, 26-28, 25-9.

Darby Godwin paced Jay's offense, picking up 20 kills. Godwin got some help from Bailey Lowry and her 44 assists. Lowry was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Jay's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Milton, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Jay and Milton will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Royals are set to face off against their familiar foe Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Milton will challenge rival Navarre at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
