Football Recap: Spencer/Columbus Finds Home Field Redemption Against Pittsville

There's no place like home for Spencer/Columbus, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 49-34 win over the Pittsville Panthers on Friday. The Rockets have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

The victory got Spencer/Columbus back to even at 1-1. As for Pittsville, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, Spencer/Columbus will square off against Stratford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Rockets' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Pittsville, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Auburndale at 7:00 p.m. on September 12.
