Softball Recap: University Academy Charter Takes a Loss

University Academy Charter had lost five straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 2-14 to make it six. They came up short against the Dickinson Rams, falling 29-15. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-7 back in April.

As for Dickinson, they moved to 4-11 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Dickinson's part, they got a massive performance out of Rosi Almonte, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave Almonte a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hope Rivera, who went 3-for-5 with four stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Looking ahead, University Academy Charter will take on Arts at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Dickinson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
