Softball Recap: Rowlett Eagles vs. Hillcrest Panthers
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Rowlett). Everything went their way against the Hillcrest Panthers on Saturday as the Rowlett Eagles made off with a 20-1 victory. With that win, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 7.6 runs per game.
McKenna Hallman looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Rowlett got a massive performance out of Dylan Buls, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The dominant performance also gave Buls a new career-high in hits (three). Jordynn Williams was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Rowlett hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in seven consecutive games.
Rowlett's victory bumped their record up to 3-4-1. As for Hillcrest, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rowlett will host South Garland at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hillcrest, they will square off against White at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
