Baseball Recap: Merritt Academy Takes a Loss

If Merritt Academy was riding high fresh off their 14-5 takedown of Landmark Academy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs came up short against the Fitzgerald Spartans on Friday, falling 9-2.

Jackson Dupuis was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Merritt Academy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Fitzgerald, they pushed their record up to 3-2 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Merritt Academy will square off against Capac at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fitzgerald, they will face off against Farber Hebrew Day at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.
