Baseball Game Preview: Pioneer Panthers vs. Culver Community Cavaliers

For the second straight game, Pioneer will face off against Culver Community. The Panthers will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against the Cavaliers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Pioneer barely beat Culver Community the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers never let the Cavaliers get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Eli Guffey and Archie Blickenstaff did most of the damage at the plate: Guffey scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Blickenstaff scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-1. Those three runs gave Guffey a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brodie Howard, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Pioneer always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Culver Community only posted an OBP of .167.

Pioneer now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Culver Community, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
