Basketball Recap: Wilkinson County Takes a Loss

Wilkinson County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Port Gibson Blue Waves and fell 65-19. Surprisingly, this marked the Wildcats' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was E'Miyah Montgomery, who posted seven points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was JaMyria Cain, who scored six points and three steals.

Wilkinson County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Port Gibson, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Wilkinson County has already played their next matchup (against Amite County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Port Gibson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 58-28 loss against Raymond on the 8th.
