Football Recap: Hudson Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Hudson extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-5. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 20-15 heartbreaker at the hands of the Dunedin Falcons. The Cobras were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Hudson lost, don't look at Christian Garrett. Despite the final result, he rushed for 38 yards and one TD, and also threw for 97 yards and one touchdown.

While Hudson came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for Dunedin: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 36.7%. The team can thank Chris Morillo for the heroic effort on defense: he. Hudson wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 55.6%.

As for Dunedin, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-3. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.3 points over those games.

Dunedin found their leader in sophomore Brayden Jackson, who threw for 210 yards and a pair of TDs. 88 of those passing yards were hauled in by Otis Bryant.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hudson will welcome Ocoee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Knights' defense has only allowed 13.7 points per game this season, so the Cobras' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Dunedin, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Nature Coast Tech at 7:30 p.m. on October 10.
