Seneca had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They took down the Midland Timberwolves 50-36. Given the Fighting Irish's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 190th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 627th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Seneca has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for Midland, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-15.

Seneca has already played their next matchup (against Beecher), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Midland will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on St. Bede at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th.
